CNC Machinist - Weekend Shift

Norbar Torque Tools Ltd., the world leading torque tool manufacturer is seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join our weekend shift team.

The successful candidate will be required to meet the following criteria:

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate multi-spindle, multi-axis CNC machine tools, with occasional use of manual lathes/mills.

• Produce small to medium-sized batches of work efficiently.

• Inspect work using various measuring equipment and report any quality defects.

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on machines and uphold high housekeeping standards.

• Optimise efficiencies by reducing setup and cycle times.

• Deburr, clean, and conduct final inspections, completing all necessary documentation.

• Collaborate with the Shift Management for problem-solving and achieving maximum efficiency.

Essential Qualities:

• Hands-on experience in setting up and operating multi-spindle, multi-axis CNC machine tools.

• Proficiency with Fanuc (ISO G Code) or similar controls.

• Adaptability between short and extended batch runs.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.

• Proficiency in measuring and inspecting work with minimal supervision.

Desirable Qualities:

• Completion of an apprenticeship programme.

• Experience in understanding, editing, and writing CNC programs.

• Experience in cycle time reduction, tool management, and optimisation.

• Familiarity with Doosan/Mori Seiki multi-axis mill turns and Matsuura H-Plus multi-pallet machining centres.

• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Lean and continuous improvement skills, including 6S methodology.

Weekend day shift comprises 36 hours Friday – Sunday inclusive.

In return we can offer a starting hourly rate of £23.67 (Inclusive of weekend shift premium).
